Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor ‘Network 55+’
Our population is ageing, as it is across the industrialised world. In the UK average life expectancy has increased by 30 years over the past 100 years and this trend is set to continue.
In the Liverpool City Region it is estimated there will be 477,000 people aged 60+ by 2040 (Source ONS). This change will create new demands for technologies, products and services e.g. new care technologies and housing models.
Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram wants to make our region the best place to age in the UK. We have an obligation to help people lead independent, fulfilled and happy lives as they age and we want the people of the city region to get involved in shaping the policies that affect them and developing an action plan for achieving our Age Friendly ambitions.
The ‘Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Network 55+’ is a new online group for city region residents who would like to help achieve that goal.
